About Us
Summer is the longest season compared to other three seasons in India. There are many ways to keep it cool in summers, and one way for men is wearing a garment that is popular mainly in South India. Lungi is woven basically by two procedures- one involves weft yarn, dyeing in single color, winding, cabling, gassing, spooling, sewing thread and weaving; and other involves warping yarn, dyeing in any pattern, warping applying starch, loading to beam and weaving. Lungi weaving requires a number of raw material and tools, for instance warping beam, spool, cotton threads, dyes, hand loom, and several chemicals. Handlooms and power looms are used for the weaving. To give men all over the country a wrap-around garment, Shri Amman Textile was established in the year 2010.
